Camping Grill Stove Combos: 8 Picks Compared

The short answer

The Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 Camp Stove gives you a two-burner stove with removable cast-iron grill and griddle plates, the Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1 Grill & Stove is the two-burner tabletop grill-and-stove unit, and the Stansport Boulder Series Propane Stove & Grill Combo is the one with the 25,000 BTU stove burner that Stansport states; all three are for outdoor use only.

Our verdict

Top Picks: Camping Grill Stove Combos at a Glance

A grill stove combo puts a burner for pots and pans and a grill or griddle surface in one box, so a car camper can boil water for coffee and sear burgers without packing two appliances. The catch is that “combo” covers very different gear: a two-burner stove with cast-iron plates that sit on top, a stove with a separate grill burner, and a single burner with a griddle. This guide sorts eight of them that Amazon stocks by what each maker states: burners, cooking area, fuel, output and weight. Pack the rest of the kit from our camping checklist.

Related guide: Multi-Fuel Camping Stoves: 8 Picks Compared

Related guide: Dutch Ovens for Camping: 9 Picks Compared

Makers rate output in different ways, so this guide prints each maker’s own figure and does not rank them. Coleman states total BTUs for the whole unit, Stansport states the stove burner and the grill burner separately, and OutdoorGearLab notes that “BTU rating alone doesn’t determine how fast they boil water”. Pure single-burner backpacking stoves and full-size patio grills are outside this guide.

All eight side by side. Figures are the maker’s (its own page, or the maker’s own Amazon listing where the maker’s site could not be read, which is the case for every Coleman figure), unless the cell names another source. Output is in BTU, with k meaning thousand (24k is the 24,000 BTU the maker states); it is printed as each maker states it and is not comparable across makers. Where sources disagree, the review shows both.

Which Combo for Which Camp

Family car camping

At a drive-in site weight matters less than cooking space, and a two-burner unit lets one cook run a pot while another surface grills. The Cascade 3-in-1 pairs two burners with cast-iron plates, per Coleman’s listing. Better Trail puts its cooktop at 290 square inches. The Tabletop 2-in-1 is a two-burner unit with a 130 square inch grill area. Cook outside the tent, away from your family tent and your air mattresses; see the outdoor-use rules below.

Picks: Coleman Cascade 3-in-1, Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1, Stansport Boulder

Big pots and high heat

Stansport states 25,000 BTU for the Boulder’s stove burner, and Outdoor Life’s Michael Pendley called it “more than double its nearest competitor in my test”. That is one 2022 test, and burner figures are not comparable across makers, so treat it as a reason to look at the Boulder rather than a ranking. Stansport’s 206-50-95 states 14,000 BTU on its stove burner.

Picks: Stansport Boulder, Stansport 206-50-95, Coleman Cascade 3-in-1

Small groups and light cooking

Stansport lists the 206-50-95 at 4.75 inches high, GasOne lists its kit at 3.3 pounds, and Hike Crew’s user guide lists its 2-in-1 at 12.1 pounds and 3.9 inches high when closed. The Coleman 4-in-1 nests its inserts inside its wok for storage, per Coleman’s listing. If you are carrying a pack rather than loading a car, none of these is the right category; start with a backpacking tent and a single-burner stove instead.

Picks: Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1, Stansport 206-50-95, Coleman 4-in-1, GasOne GS-3400P Kit, Hike Crew 2-in-1

Griddle breakfasts

Five of the eight ship with a griddle or a reversible griddle/grill: the Cascade 3-in-1 (cast iron), the Coleman 4-in-1, the ROVSUN, the Hike Crew and the GasOne kit (non-stick). The Tabletop and both Stansport units are stove-plus-grill designs.

Picks: Coleman Cascade 3-in-1, Coleman 4-in-1, ROVSUN 2-in-1, GasOne GS-3400P Kit, Hike Crew 2-in-1

Grill-Griddle Two-Burner

Car campers who want cast-iron grilling and griddling on a two-burner stove and can accept the weight.

$274.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:36 UTC

Verdict

A two-burner propane stove that ships with removable cast-iron grill and griddle accessories; Coleman’s listing states 24,000 total BTUs and a 22 x 13.2 in cooktop.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Better Trail: Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 camping stove with cast-iron grill and griddle.

Coleman’s own site blocked our reader, so the Coleman figures here come from Coleman’s Amazon listing, which lists “Removable cast-iron grill and griddle accessories”, “24,000 total BTUs of cooking power” across 2 adjustable burners, a size that “Fits 12-inch and 10-inch pan”, and “Up to 1 hour on high on one 16 oz. propane cylinder (sold separately)”. Coleman’s list price was not published in what we could read.

Better Trail reviewed this stove in April 2025 and writes: “The Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 comes with the standard fare—pressure regulator, auto ignition, removable grates, and wind shields—but what sets it apart is the inclusion of cast iron grill and griddle plates.” Its cons list “Subpar wind shields” and “Cast-iron accessories can shift while you cook”. OutdoorGearLab gives it its Best Stove and Grill Combo award and lists “Cast iron attachments are heavy to carry” and “Thin wind guards” among the cons.

Weight is where the sources disagree. Amazon’s listing says 15.8 pounds. Better Trail’s table says 14 lb 12.8 oz, while its text says “over 26 pounds with accessories”. OutdoorGearLab reports a measured 12.95 lb. Coleman’s own figure was not readable, so check the weight against your own load before you buy.

Specs (Cascade 3-in-1, 2-burner with accessories):

  • Linked model: Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 Camp Stove, Amazon variant “2-burner w/ accessories”, sold by Amazon.com
  • Burners and output: 2 adjustable burners, 24,000 total BTUs (Coleman’s listing); Better Trail lists 2 x 12,000 BTU
  • Cooking area: 22 x 13.2 in cooktop (Coleman’s listing, OutdoorGearLab); 290 sq in (Better Trail)
  • Fuel: propane, 16 oz cylinder sold separately (Coleman’s listing)
  • Weight: 15.8 lb (Amazon listing); 14 lb 12.8 oz and “over 26 pounds with accessories” (Better Trail); 12.95 lb measured (OutdoorGearLab); Coleman’s own figure not read

Pros

  • Removable cast-iron grill and griddle accessories included, per Coleman’s listing
  • Two adjustable burners rated at 24,000 total BTUs, per Coleman’s listing
  • Removable pan support and aluminized steel cooktop for wiping down, per Coleman’s listing

Cons

  • Heavy to carry with the cast-iron plates; sources put the weight anywhere from 12.95 lb to over 26 lb
  • Thin wind shields, per Better Trail and OutdoorGearLab
  • Cast-iron plates can shift while you cook, per Better Trail

$194.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:38 UTC

Verdict

A two-burner propane tabletop grill-and-stove unit that Coleman’s listing rates at 20,000 total BTUs, with a 130 sq in grilling area and a stove that fits a 10 in pan.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, previous generation. Outdoor Life: Coleman Deluxe Tabletop Propane 2-in-1 Grill/Stove (2022 roundup).

Coleman’s listing describes a “2-in-1 design so you can use the grill and stove at the same time”, push-button Instastart ignition, “WindBlock panels shield burners from wind or fold down for use as side tables”, and a “Rust-resistant aluminized steel cooktop” with an “Easy-to-clean removable grease management tray”. Coleman’s list price was not published in what we could read, and its own site blocked our reader.

Outdoor Life tested Coleman’s Deluxe Tabletop Propane 2-in-1 Grill/Stove in a 2022 roundup. Michael Pendley wrote that “This system produced much less grease after cooking on it” and that it “made the best grill marks of all the tested units”; he also listed “Not as durable as some of the other units”, “No carry bag or handle makes transporting difficult” and “Push button start not as reliable as other tested units” as cons. That unit was named “Deluxe Tabletop” and the listing we link is the “Tabletop 2-in-1”, model 2209291; both state 20,000 total BTUs and 130 square inches, but we could not read Coleman’s pages to confirm they are the same unit, so treat the praise as about the earlier Deluxe.

Coleman sells this Tabletop under several model numbers on Amazon (2209291 linked; 2209294 and 2209297 are others). The linked listing prints no weight and no burn time; the sibling listings say “Up to 1 hour” and “Up to 2 hours” on one cylinder, so confirm burn time with the unit you buy.

Specs (model 2209291, silver):

  • Linked model: Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1 Grill & Stove, model 2209291, silver, sold by Amazon.com
  • Burners and output: 2 independently adjustable burners, 20,000 total BTUs (Coleman’s listing)
  • Cooking area: 130 sq in grilling area; stove fits one 10 in pan (Coleman’s listing)
  • Fuel: propane (Coleman’s listing)
  • Weight: not published on the linked listing

Pros

  • Grill and stove burners can run at the same time, per Coleman’s listing
  • Wind panels that fold down as side tables, per Coleman’s listing
  • Removable grease tray, which Outdoor Life found cut grease after cooking on its earlier Deluxe version

Cons

  • No weight or burn time on the linked listing, and sibling listings state different burn times
  • Outdoor Life found the earlier Deluxe version less durable than some units and its push-button start less reliable
  • Outdoor Life found no carry bag or handle on the earlier Deluxe version

Stansport Boulder

High-Output Stove, Grill

Car campers who cook for a group with large pots and want a high-output stove burner next to a grill.

$191.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:36 UTC

Verdict

A propane stove-and-grill combo with a 25,000 BTU stove burner and an 8,000 BTU grill tube burner, as Stansport states them.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Outdoor Life: Stansport Boulder Series Propane Stove & Grill (2022 roundup).

Stansport lists “25,000 BTU stainless steel burner” and “8,000 BTU grill tube burner”, piezo ignition on both, a stainless steel grill grate and a recessed stainless steel drip tray. Its description adds: “Each burner is controlled separately, so you can simmer that sauce while grilling up a perfect burger.” The unit has low-profile windscreens, a carry handle with reinforced corner bumpers, a regulator that stores under the stove, and Stansport calls it “CSA Registered”. Stansport lists it at $307.99.

Stansport publishes no weight (“Weights and measures are approximations and may vary due to the manufacturing process”); Amazon’s listing says 14 pounds.

Outdoor Life tested this model in 2022. Michael Pendley wrote that “This rugged grill stove combo finished a close second to the Camp Chef Rainier 2X in the overall test”, and listed the lack of a carry bag and a stainless steel grill grate that “experienced stuck on food” as cons. He added: “While the Stansport produced excellent grill marks, it was the most difficult to clean.”

Specs (206-700):

  • Linked model: Stansport Boulder Series Propane Stove & Grill Combo (206-700), sold by Amazon.com
  • Burners and output: 25,000 BTU stainless steel stove burner and 8,000 BTU grill tube burner (Stansport)
  • Cooking area: not published by Stansport; unit size 23.75 x 16.75 x 15 in (Stansport)
  • Fuel: propane; Outdoor Life reports 16.4 oz cylinders for the units it tried
  • Weight: not published by Stansport; 14 lb on the Amazon listing

Pros

  • 25,000 BTU stove burner plus a separately controlled 8,000 BTU grill tube burner, per Stansport
  • Heavy gauge chrome steel burner grate and a carry handle with corner bumpers, per Stansport
  • Regulator assembly stores under the stove, per Stansport

Cons

  • Hardest to clean of the units in Outdoor Life’s 2022 test, per Pendley
  • No carry bag and food stuck to the stainless grill grate, per Outdoor Life
  • No weight or cooking-area figure from Stansport

Campers who want a stove-and-grill combo listed at 4.75 in high and will accept a model with only the maker's specs behind it.

$142.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:38 UTC

Verdict

A propane stove-and-grill combo that Stansport lists at 22,000 total BTUs, with a 13 x 10 in grill area and a 4.75 in-high case.

Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: Stansport.

Stansport lists “One high output 14,000 BTUs stainless steel burner”, “One 8,000 BTUs grill burner”, “22,000 total BTUs”, a “13” x 10″ grill area”, a piezo igniter, a polished stainless steel drip pan, a brass 10 PSI regulator and a wind screen on 3 sides. It uses 16.4 oz disposable propane cylinders. The page’s description text says the stove burner offers “over 10,000 BTUs” while the bullet list says 14,000, so Stansport’s page disagrees with itself; we print the bullet figure and flag the difference. Stansport lists it at $284.99 and publishes no weight; the Amazon listing’s weight field reads 1 pound, which we did not use.

We found no independent test of this model. Outdoor Life’s Stansport test covered the Boulder (#3), not this unit. Amazon showed “Only 1 left in stock” when we checked.

Specs (206-50-95):

  • Linked model: Stansport Propane Stove & Grill Combo, model 206-50-95, sold by Amazon.com
  • Burners and output: 14,000 BTU stainless steel burner and 8,000 BTU grill burner, 22,000 total (Stansport bullets); description text says “over 10,000 BTUs” for the stove burner
  • Cooking area: 13 x 10 in grill area; unit size 23.5 x 12.75 x 4.75 in (Stansport)

Pros

  • 14,000 BTU stove burner and 8,000 BTU grill burner in a case Stansport lists at 4.75 in high
  • Brass 10 PSI regulator and a wind screen on three sides included, per Stansport
  • Stansport also lists an optional high-pressure regulator for high altitude

Cons

  • Stansport’s page gives two different stove-burner figures
  • No weight published and no independent test found
  • Amazon showed a single unit left when we checked

4-in-1 Cooking System

$164.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:38 UTC

Verdict

A Coleman system with three swappable inserts (stove, wok and a reversible griddle/grill) and up to 7,000 total BTUs, per Coleman’s listing.

Evidence: No independent test; owner reports. r/camping: Coleman 4-in-1 (an owner who describes a cast-iron griddle side; build not stated).

Coleman’s own site blocked our reader, so these are the figures from Coleman’s Amazon listing: “3 inserts (stove, wok, and reversible griddle/grill) included”, “Up to 7,000 total BTUs of cooking power”, “100 sq. in. of cooking area”, “Removable legs and inserts fit inside inverted wok for easy storage”, and a “Water tray catches cooking grease for easy cleaning”. It uses a 16.4 oz propane cylinder. The listing states the warranty twice: “3-year limited warranty” in the bullets and a 1-year limited warranty in its attributes, so check the paperwork. Coleman’s list price was not published in what we could read.

We found no independent test. In an r/camping thread, one owner links Coleman’s 4-in-1 and writes: “BTU isn’t that great though and it’s essentially a single burner. But for 1-2 people it works pretty well.” That owner describes a cast-iron griddle side, so their unit may be an earlier build than the one we link.

Specs (model 2209292, black):

  • Linked model: Coleman 4-in-1 Portable Propane Grill with Grill/Stove/Griddle/Wok, model 2209292, black, sold by Amazon.com

Pros

  • Legs and inserts store inside the inverted wok, per Coleman’s listing
  • Water tray to catch grease, per Coleman’s listing

Cons

  • Up to 7,000 total BTUs and 100 sq in of cooking area per Coleman’s listing; one owner calls the BTUs “not that great” but says it works for one or two people
  • No independent test found; evidence is one owner report
  • Listing gives two different warranty lengths

Stove and Griddle Combo

$99.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:38 UTC

Verdict

A tabletop propane stove with a removable griddle that ROVSUN states at 10,000 BTU for the stove burner and 12.1 lb.

Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: ROVSUN.

ROVSUN’s page lists a “Cooking Burner 10,000 BTU” and a “Grilling Burner 5,000 BTU”, a 12.1 lb weight, a 9.4 x 8.3 in cooking surface and an 11.8 x 9.1 in grilling surface, and says you can “use grill and stove at the same time”. It also has a three-sided windbreak with safety clips. The griddle burner figure is not consistent across the sources: ROVSUN’s spec table says 5,000 BTU, but its feature text and the Amazon bullets say 3,000 BTU. ROVSUN lists it at $119.99.

ROVSUN’s page names a “1-Burner” model while the Amazon variant we link is labelled “2 Burner (Igniter+Griddle)-Black”; we matched them by the 10,000 BTU stove, the piezo igniter and the weight, so compare the listing with the page before you buy. The Amazon seller is ROVSUN itself, the maker’s own storefront. We found no independent test.

  • Linked model: ROVSUN 2-in-1 Portable Camping Stove & Propane Grill with Enamel Griddle, Black, Amazon variant “2 Burner (Igniter+Griddle)-Black”, sold by ROVSUN (maker’s Amazon storefront)

  • Fuel: propane, 1 lb cylinder (ROVSUN)

Pros

  • Stove burner and removable griddle on one tabletop unit, per ROVSUN
  • Three-sided windbreak with safety clips, per ROVSUN
  • Piezo igniter and a regulator included, per the Amazon listing

Cons

  • ROVSUN gives two different griddle-burner figures
  • ROVSUN’s page names a 1-burner model, the linked variant says 2 burner
  • No independent test found; evidence is the maker’s page

$56.99 from AmazonAs of Nov 5, 04:38 UTC

Verdict

An 8,000 BTU single-burner dual-fuel stove bundled with a non-stick griddle, for one or two cooks.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. CleverHiker: Gas ONE GS-3400P stove (without the griddle).

GasOne’s page lists the kit as an “8,000 BTU Dual Fuel Stove and Griddle Bundle” that includes a non-stick griddle, runs on an “8 oz Butane Canister or 16.4 oz Propane Tank”, weighs 3.3 lb and measures 13.5 x 11.2 x 4.4 in. GasOne lists it at $59.99. The Amazon listing adds a carrying case and a propane converter regulator, and gives the weight as 5.56 lbs, so the sources differ; GasOne’s page figure is the one in the table. The listing’s own attribute field says two main burners, while GasOne’s page and CleverHiker’s spec list describe one; we treat it as a single burner. The griddle’s size was not published in what we could read.

The CleverHiker review covers the GS-3400P stove, not this kit or its griddle. It writes that “The Gas ONE GS-3400P camp stove is an excellent beginner’s stove that more advanced camp chefs will appreciate as well”, and adds that “As a single burner, this stove can limit the meals you might want to make on it” and that it missed a wind guard. With one burner you cook on the burner or on the griddle, not both at once.

Specs (GS-3400P-KIT):

  • Linked model: GasOne GS-3400P-KIT Propane or Butane Gas Stove with Flat Top Griddle, sold by Amazon.com
  • Burners and output: 1 burner, 8,000 BTU (GasOne; CleverHiker lists 8,000 BTU per burner for the GS-3400P stove)
  • Cooking area: griddle size not published in what we could read; unit size 13.5 x 11.2 x 4.4 in (GasOne)
  • Fuel: 8 oz butane canister or 16.4 oz propane tank (GasOne)
  • Weight: 3.3 lb (GasOne); 5.56 lbs on the Amazon listing; CleverHiker weighed the stove alone at 3 lb 4.8 oz

Pros

  • Dual-fuel stove with a non-stick griddle in one kit, per GasOne
  • Runs on butane or propane, with a propane converter regulator included per the Amazon listing
  • 3.3 lb on GasOne’s page, with a carrying case per the Amazon listing

Cons

  • One burner, so the griddle and a pot run one at a time
  • No wind guard, per CleverHiker, who tested the stove without the griddle
  • Griddle size not published in what we could read

A tabletop propane stove with a griddle that Hike Crew states at 10,000 BTU for the stove burner and 3,000 BTU for the griddle burner, and at 12.1 lb in its user guide.

Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: Hike Crew.

Hike Crew’s page lists a “10,000 BTU burner cooktop for powerful cooking”, a “3,000 BTU griddle for amazing outdoor cooking”, an integrated igniter, a stainless steel drip tray, a built-in carrying handle and wind panels, and says the “Lid and side panels convert into a three-sided windshield”. Its user guide for model HC1B1FWI gives a weight of 12.1 lbs, a closed size of 23.6 x 12.6 x 3.9 in and 1 lb propane cylinders, and notes that “Each burner can be operated independently.” Hike Crew lists the red version at $129.99. The Amazon listing repeats the 10,000 and 3,000 BTU figures, says the unit “Weighs Only 12 Pounds”, takes a skillet, pan or pot up to 10 in, and calls the griddle surface ceramic.

Hike Crew’s stated 10,000 BTU stove burner, 12.1 lb weight and closed and open sizes match ROVSUN’s figures for #6. Hike Crew gives 3,000 BTU for the griddle burner on its page, in its user guide and on the Amazon listing alike, and Amazon.com is the seller. We found no independent test. Only the red version was in stock new on Amazon when we checked.

What to Look For in a Grill Stove Combo

Burners, output and cooking area

Count burners and read how the maker states output. Coleman gives a total for the unit; Stansport, ROVSUN and Hike Crew give a figure for each burner; OutdoorGearLab notes that “BTU rating alone doesn’t determine how fast they boil water”. Cooking area matters as much: Pendley wrote that most of the grills he tried were in the “13 inches x 10 inches range with a burner space for up to a 10-inch pot”. Makers state cooking area differently: Coleman gives the Cascade 3-in-1’s whole two-burner cooktop (22 x 13.2 in), while Coleman’s Tabletop and Stansport give the grill area alone.

Fuel

Pendley reports that “All the stoves I tested used easy to carry 16.4-ounce propane cylinders”, and that Primus offers an attachment for standard gas-grill tanks. Of the eight here, only the GasOne kit also runs on butane, per GasOne. Check whether a regulator or hose is in the box.

Wind and cleanup

Pendley recommends looking for folding wind blocks that surround three sides of the stove, and notes that “built up food drippings in a grill can catch fire and damage the stove”. Better Trail calls the Cascade 3-in-1’s wind shields subpar and OutdoorGearLab calls its wind guards thin.

Outdoor use only

Treat every unit here as outdoor equipment. Stansport’s owner’s manual for its 206-50 model, an earlier stove in the line we link at #4, says: “FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY.” and “Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as a camper, tent, car or home.” Its danger notice reads “This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odor.” The same manual says “Do not use as a space heater.” and “Do not place the stove any closer than 24″ to combustibles.” Hike Crew’s user guide for the HC1B1FWI says “Use the unit outdoors only.” and “Do not operate this appliance in a boat, trailer, or tent.”, and asks you to “Ensure that the appliance is 40″ or more away from any combustible materials.” The Coleman Tabletop, Coleman 4-in-1 and GasOne listings carry an Amazon attribute of outdoor use; we did not read the manuals for the other models, so read the one in your box. Never cook inside a tent.

How We Chose These Combos

How this guide was built

built from manufacturer documentation, published third-party reviews and owner reports; we have not tested these products ourselves.

What each combo had to show

  • A burner (or burners) plus a grill, griddle or reversible grill/griddle surface in one unit, so a pure single-burner stove or a full-size patio grill does not qualify.
  • Burners, cooking area, fuel, output and weight as the maker states them, or “not published” in the table; output is never ranked across makers.
  • Stocked on Amazon, new and in stock when we checked; where someone other than Amazon.com holds the buy box, the review names the seller.
  • An independent review or owner report for the product line, with the tested version named.
Where the evidence comes from, what campers on r/camping say and combos we left out

Where the evidence comes from

Outdoor Life (Michael Pendley, updated August 2022) reviewed five grill-stove combos; we cite it for the Stansport Boulder and the earlier Coleman Deluxe Tabletop. Better Trail and OutdoorGearLab cover the Cascade 3-in-1, and CleverHiker covers the GasOne stove without its griddle. The Coleman 4-in-1 rests on an owner report; the Stansport 206-50-95, the ROVSUN and the Hike Crew rest on maker specs. Each review’s Evidence line says which version a source covered.

What campers on r/camping say

In an r/camping thread on stove, griddle and grill combos, one camper writes: “Do it all or do all of it well. Pick one. In my experience the do it all combos don’t do any of it well.” Another suggests a Coleman stove with a cast-iron griddle as the minimum. In a separate thread the top reply advises buying a traditional two-burner Coleman stove plus a separate griddle, and one reply adds that “a two-burner stove can become a griddle but a griddle can’t become a two-burner stove”. That is the owners’ view; this guide covers the combos for campers who prefer a single box.

Combos we left out

Outdoor Life’s overall pick, the Camp Chef Rainier 2X Combo, showed as currently unavailable on Amazon when we checked, and we did not find Bass Pro Shops’ High Output unit or the Zempire 2-Burner DLX Grill (named by Better Trail and OutdoorGearLab) stocked there. Amazon’s Primus Profile listing describes a two-burner stove with no grill, so it does not match the model Outdoor Life tried. Weber Q, Napoleon TravelQ and Coleman RoadTrip units, named in the r/camping thread, are grills with swap-in tops rather than burner-and-grill combos. Full-size griddle stoves with wheels and multi-burner patio ratings were treated as off-brief. Coleman’s 1900 Collection 3-in-1, in stock when we checked, lists the same 24,000 BTUs and removable cast-iron grill and griddle accessories as the Cascade 3-in-1, so we did not list it separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the best camping stove and grill combo?

It depends on what you cook, and the independent roundups do not agree. Outdoor Life’s 2022 roundup named the Camp Chef Rainier 2X as its overall pick, which Amazon showed as unavailable when we checked. OutdoorGearLab gives its Best Stove and Grill Combo award to the Coleman Cascade 3-in-1, and Better Trail calls the same stove its most versatile. Pick by cooking area, burners and weight, not by a single award.

Q. What is the best camping cooking stove?

OutdoorGearLab writes that “The stove we recommend for most campers is the Camp Chef Everest 2x”, a two-burner stove. If you want a grill or griddle in the same box, the eight combos above are the ones that include one.

Q. Is a grill stove combo better than a separate stove and griddle?

Not necessarily. Several r/camping commenters recommend a traditional two-burner stove plus a separate griddle, while others like having both in one box. A combo saves packing space; a separate stove and griddle gives you more cooking area, in those commenters’ experience.

Q. Can I use a camping grill stove combo inside a tent?

No. Stansport’s manual for its 206-50 says “Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as a camper, tent, car or home” and warns of carbon monoxide. Use these outdoors only and read the manual for your model.

Q. What fuel do camping grill stove combos use?

Outdoor Life reports that the stoves it tried all used 16.4-ounce propane cylinders. Seven of the eight list propane only; the GasOne kit also takes 8 oz butane canisters, per GasOne.

Q. What is the best portable grill and griddle combo?

Five of the eight include a griddle: the Cascade 3-in-1 (cast-iron grill and griddle), the Coleman 4-in-1 (reversible griddle/grill), the ROVSUN, the Hike Crew and the GasOne kit. In the r/camping thread, commenters also name Weber Q, Napoleon TravelQ and Coleman RoadTrip grills that take griddle inserts, but those are grills rather than burner-and-grill combos.

The bottom line

Final Verdict

For two pans and a cast-iron grill and griddle on one two-burner stove, the Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 Camp Stove (check price) is the pick that both Better Trail and OutdoorGearLab reviewed, with the weight caveat in the review. The Coleman Tabletop 2-in-1 Grill & Stove (check price) is the two-burner tabletop grill-and-stove unit, and its Outdoor Life praise was for the earlier Deluxe. For a high-output stove burner next to a grill, the Stansport Boulder Series Propane Stove & Grill Combo (check price) is the one Stansport states at 25,000 BTU. The Stansport Propane Stove & Grill Combo 206-50-95 (check price) is the stove-and-grill alternative with a listed 14,000 BTU stove burner.

For one or two cooks, the Coleman 4-in-1 Portable Propane Grill (check price) swaps a stove, wok and reversible griddle/grill over one system, the ROVSUN 2-in-1 Portable Camping Stove & Propane Grill (check price) pairs a stove burner with a removable griddle, the Hike Crew 2-in-1 Gas Camping Stove and Griddle (check price) is the stove-and-griddle unit sold by Amazon.com with one stated griddle-burner figure, and the GasOne GS-3400P-KIT Dual Fuel Stove (check price) is the dual-fuel, one-burner stove with a griddle. Whichever you pick, cook outdoors only and read the maker’s manual for your model.
